100% Pure cosmetics
Reasons why to love Natural cosmetic brands? Because they use natural and earth-friendly (not to mention skin-friendly) ingredients. Try narrowing down those type of cosmetic brands.... Not much, right? I recently crossed by 100% Pure cosmetics' website, and found it interesting & exciting! If you're not familiar with 100% Pure cosmetics, they have tons of natural products, from cosmetics to body lotions, body washes AND they just launched their own skin care line. And it's all with natural ingredients. And not only that, but they use Fruit pigments! If you read some of my previous & early posts back when I began the blog, you'll know that I tend not to use so much products when it comes to skin care. I always go with the natural home remedies & quick fixes like drying lotion. But since it's 100% natural, I think I might give it a try sometime.
Like I mentioned above they sell natural cosmetics. Well for one, my everyday makeup are the basics: mineral powder (or tinted moisturizer), mascara, & gloss. And that's it. Sometimes I would add eyeshadow, eyeliner, etc. But in short, that is my basic makeup set. So far I've been sticking with the same basic makeup products. But now, I just HAVE to share my new top 3 faves!
Since I have very fair skin, I always go for a more tan-ish type of tone in Tinted Moisturizers, a tone that's just a tad bit stronger than mine. Or else, I'll look like the vampires from Twilight. We all know It's tough finding a good foundation these days. One that blends well, has the right skin tone, good coverage, and doesn't cause any break outs. 100% Pure tinted moisturizer has that flawless blending that I'm always looking for. It correctly blends in with my skin tone, and the best part is that it doesn't have that "thick layer of ew" that makes you look all cakey & fake, or even oily. Remember to spread it out so it can be absorbed into the skin. It has a great coverage and when applied it gives off a beautiful natural glow. It has a good level of moisture, and it's not scented. But If I did have to describe the scent, I would say it's a very light scent of sunscreen, probably the Zinc. It reminds me of beaches! ha! Don't all sunscreens do?
It lasts all day and I can barely feel it on my face. According to the ingredients, this product contains 100% natural ingredients. Below I included the list of the ingredients & pigments included in this Tinted Moisturizer:
Active Ingredients:
15% Titanium Dioxide
10% Zinc Oxide
Other Ingredients:
May contain all or some of the follow ingredients: Peach, Apricot, Carrot, Pomegranate, Cocoa Bean, Goji berry and Tomato, White Tea, Cucumber juice, Aloe juice, Acai oil, Pomegranate oil, Vitamin E (a-tocopherol), Vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate), Rice Starch, Candelilla Wax, Extracts of Rosemary, Oregano, Thyme, Grapefruit seed, Japanese Honeysuckle, Goldenseal and Cinamon.
This tube is the size of a hand. From your tallest finger's tip, to right above the wrist. A lot of product in it. It's about $32, and worth it! They offer sheer to medium coverage. And you have many different tones to choose from.
This is a MUST-HAVE. I have concealers everywhere with me. It is, and will forever be, a must-have for me. This is perfect for quick fixes or whenever you need to cover up a small blemish, or a red spot, even a scar. Concealers are life savers at times. 100% pure Fruit Pigmented brightening Concealer with SPF 20 offers a good matte coverage. It blends in nicely without leaving an oily or cakey trail, and it goes well with foundation. It's good at covering up simple blemishes such as red spots, small scars, and dark circles. If you need to cover up big blemishes, I suggest applying a fair coat of tinted moisturizer/foundation first, and then apply the concealer. It lasts all day, you can barely feel it, and it's made with natural ingredients like all their products. It doesn't clog up pores as much as other brand-name concealers. They offer a good variety tones to choose from, has a good amount of product, $16. Overall, it's a very good concealer, great to keep in hand!
Like always, I save the best for last. So far, I've been through TONS of mascaras. More than you can imagine, from drugstore to brand-name mascaras. A lot of them clump the lashes, and since I have straight lashes, all I obviously care about is getting that curl and length all day without having to deal with clumpy lashes. One that's easy to remove. This is the Fruit pigmented black tea mascara. I use about 2-3 coats, and that's all it takes to get good results. It's really easy to apply and avoid clumping the lashes with the wand. It adds a nice length & volume to the lashes, as well as the curl. The curl does wear off a bit during the day, but you still have great lashes.
The bristles are perfect. They don't carry any clumps of mascara whatsoever and it separates the lashes while combing and curling them. As well as leaving the nice dark pigment. It's easy to remove, doesn't dry or smudge, and it doesn't stain your under eyes. The thing I hate the most is staining my under eyes with mascara! It's sooo hard to remove. But that's why makeup removers exist..
Before trying this, I was using Great Lash by Maybelline -in blackest black- and well it is good with pigment. It doesn't do a very good job at keeping the the curl or length. More like it sticks straight out, like llama lashes. It stains my under eyes, and you've GOT to be careful around this mascara. It could stain anything. So personally when comparing this 'famous' brand-name mascara to 100% pure black tea mascara, which one do you think is worth it? Sure you can probably find Great Lash for $5-$6 at a drugstore, but 100% pure beats the quality. It has more product than Great Lash, offers good quality, and on top of that it's natural. I'd rather buy Black Tea mascara than to stick with $6 llama lashes.
P.S. They also have mini mascaras! Perfect size for travel. Now that, is a must-have for a travel bag. ; )
Disclosure: I received a sample of each product. There was no monetary compensation at all. All thoughts & opinions are 100% mine. I am affiliated with this company.

My Latest Lip obsession!
Okay...I just can't choose between these two. But these are my latest Lip Obsessions!
Soft lips (in strawberry) is the everyday chapstick I wear. I would either have dry or chapped lips so I always carry this around with me... but only in strawberry! Since it's my favorite flavor. And these chapsticks are just $1 at any CVS or Walgreens, they even offer three packs with 3 different flavors. It's smooth and easy to apply, not that messy or sticky, it's long wear as well. Which is my first priority when choosing Lip products! If it is not long wear, then it's not that good in quality. And what I also like about this chapstick, is that I can wear a different lip product over it. If it's lipstick, the lipstick would go on first, then the chapstick. Because if you apply the chapstick first, then it will be all gooey and messy if you try applying lipstick over it. If it's lipgloss, then I would apply the chapstick first, then top it off with the lipgloss.
I have nothing to disclose

TOP 15 Beauty secrets & quick fixes
We're always looking for some beauty secrets, maybe some tricks to spice up our look or add a touch of sparkle. Well I whipped up 20 beauty secrets, check em' out and tell me what you think :]
1. Mascara is a must-have
One thing you should always have: Mascara. This adds some definition and a nice bold look to the eyes. A simple yet beautiful touch. Or probably not sure what eyeshadow to put on? well, 'when it doubt, use mascara.'
2. Erase those dark circles
One of the biggest common problem in women. Those dark purple half circles that appear under our eyes. This is caused by lack of sleep, or lack of energy (nutrition). One quick way to fix this? Concealer. Remember to pat the concealer on the under eye area [or blemish area] (do not rub, this stretches the sensitive under eye skin). Two great and affordable concealers you can try out: Sonia Kashuk® Hidden Agenda Concealer Set
& the Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer - Beige
. (both have good ratings and reviews) It's also recommended to apply some Aloe Vera gel under the eye to create a temporary firm state, this also helps awaken that tired look.
3. A fix for Thin lips
Majority of us women feel the need to do something about our thin lips. There is always a quick trick, such as using a lip highlighter (a shade lighter than your lip color) then apply it and line on the outer lip. Another cool trick, says to create a "curvy bounce-off" looking upper lip: apply a good highlighter overdrawing your lips cupid bow.
4. Kill that zit!
Zits and pimples can really get irritating! Especially if your only 1 day away from an important occasion. Don't let that drown you. Top quick fixes: A drying lotion works perfect! a recommended one is Mario Badescu Drying Lotion . Using a cotton swab, apply a dab of the product (DO NOT shake the bottle, only apply the pink sediment at the bottom) on your zit (pimple or whitehead) let is sit and dry (if you are doing this before bedtime be sure to rinse in the morning).
Another quick fix: "by applying a dime size of Aveeno's 1% hydrocortisone cream, and leave it on for a max of 2hrs." - Instyle (Fall - September 2010 issue)
5. Create an instant smokey eye
For quick and beautiful smokey eyes: use an eye pencil (matte is better) it can be dark plum, midnight blue, or even a charcoal color. Apply all over the lid, and some on the lower lash line. Then to create the smokey effect, smooth & smudge it out with a cotton swab. (add some brighten on the inner corner of the eyes)
6. Mineral powder for glow
Another must-have. Just by applying some mineral powder glow, it completely creates a beautiful natural effect (without the cakey look of course!)
7. Take a change - add some volume
Taking care of your hair is primary. You can't get volume with damaged hair. Snipping split ends (even if it's just cm) monthly is a good way to start. Be sure not to add too much hair styling products, as this will damage your hair. And, volume boosting shampoo and conditioners can help add that body of hair back. (Garnier Fructis Fortifying 2 In 1 Shampoo & Conditioner Body & Volume 13 oz.
$4.30) great fix = healthy volumous hair.
8. Flawless skin
Flawless skin comes with care. That means choosing the right cleanser and moisturizer for your skin type, that you can use from morning to night, daily. Exfoliating once a week is a "must-do". This helps by removing old dead skin cells, and renewing the skin. Nothing calls for a healthy glowing skin than Exfoliating.
9. Tired of pores? then take the final step.
If you have large pores, and just want to shrink them. Then there is one way to go. Visit a spa and ask for a microdermabrasion treatment (a very good facial treatment. It will shrink the pores as well)
10. Small eyes? Make them look bigger!
If you want your eyes to look bigger, you'd have to stay away from dark shades. You can start out with beautiful and natural tones and shades such as sandy pink, pink, nude, dusty earth, and light brown.
11. Hard to remove waterproof mascara?
Majority of waterproof mascaras are tough to remove. A quick (and the best) fix to this is by adding a few drops of Olive oil on a cotton pad/ball. Close your eyes and smooth the cotton pad over on the eyelashes, keep it for about 30 seconds, then wash/wipe your lashes clean.
12. Tangled hair?
This is probably caused by lack of combing after shower, or pillow case. It is recommended to use a silk or satin pillow case, since these won't tangle your hair.
13. You can never go wrong with a little blush
Really, you can't go wrong with a little color on your cheeks. Apply some mineral blush just a tad bit lower from the cheekbone. This adds some color & freshens up your look.
14. Moisturizing is your best friend ;]
Especially a hydrating moisturizer! You can never go wrong with these, this keeps your skin hydrated, smooth, and refreshed. (make sure the moisturizer is for your skin type. It should at least include some vitamins, and zinc. Zinc helps by protecting the skin by harmful sun rays.)
15. Whiten teeth with Baking soda & Hydrogen peroxide
The secret was revealed! I mean, don't waste so much money on teeth whitening treatments when you've got the answer right here. Yellow teeth are usually caused by smoking, drinking wine, coffee, soda, and juice. Anything that will stain your teeth. Baking soda & Hydrogen peroxide are two great ingredients to use for teeth whitening. Hydrogen peroxide eliminates bacteria, as well as decreasing the chance of cavities. And baking soda is the sparkle for the whitening ;]
- Brush your teeth like you do everyday
- Once you've brushed your teeth, apply some Baking soda on your tooth brush (must be clean) and start brushing your teeth (max. 1 min.) and rinse.
- Rinse with hydrogen peroxide, and let it sit for a maximum of 30-45 seconds. (if you feel small bubbles then it's a good sign!) and rinse again with cold water.
You can rinse with Hydrogen peroxide (no more than 30%) 1-2 times a day.
Best beauty secrets & quick fixes! ;]

Eye Makeup for Blue Eyes #1
I am a fan of all eye colors; eyes are probably the most unique asset of a person, it's like a fingerprint, they're all different. Today we're going to explore the beauty that is blue eyes, and how to keep them the center of attention when using makeup.
When it comes to matching shades with Blue eyes, well there's some competition going on. See, greens and even blue shades themselves won't do as well as other shades, because it will be a very competitive color for your eyes. When you pair up a green shade with blue eyes, the green shade will draw the attention away from the eyes, and that's not what we are aiming for here. When pairing blue shades with blue eyes, it's competitive since their both blue, and the blue shade will draw the attention away from the eyes. Of course, that doesn't mean blue eyed people should avoid blue shades, you can freely wear blue and still show off those eyes, but we want to focus on the kind of makeup we could use to REALLY attract attention to those blue pearls. So Rule #1 if you really want your eyes to shine, stay away from blues and greens similar to your eye color- UNLESS you plan on using darker shades.
Some Makeup tips for Blue eyes:
- When wearing shades like: Neutral Earth tones, browns, burnt oranges, apricots. You want to keep the lips and cheeks simple. You have to choose whether to play up your eyes or lips (unless it's a party night out), and in this case, we're working on eye magic.
- Neutral colors go especially well with blue and green eyes
- Keeping it Natural- Your eye color is beautiful! So always be sure to still keep it natural, and embrace your natural beauty.
Eye Shadow for Blue Eyes:
The Eye shades for Blue eyes would be: peach, neutral earth tones, browns, pinks, purples, grays, soft beige, apricots, soft burnt orange, violets, rust/copper, blacks, yellows, lavenders.
The more you want to accent the color of your eyes, the farther you have to travel in the color spectrum- make sure it's the complete opposite color, and sometimes the darker it is the more it helps. If you have crystal baby blue eyes, just keep in mind that those Maybelline models don't wear black eye makeup for no reason.

If you have Fair skin and BLUE EYES:
eye shades- soft lavenders, shimmery silver, shimmery calm beige, light sandy-ton, greys
If you have Medium Skin tone and BLUE EYES:
eye shades- peach, pinks, neutral earth tones, browns, soft burnt oranges, soft lavender-pink, brownish-pink, sandy brown-oranges, shimmery beige, bronze, deep burnt gold, copper, golden pinks, grays, pale pinks, pale blue,
If you have OLIVE TO DARK skin tone and BLUE EYES:
caramels, coffee, browns, golds, copper, bronze, deep purple-plum, shimmery beige, blacks, pale brown
Day time makeup idea: You can apply a shimmery light beige with brown and add a good black liquid liner.
I know I know, I didn't forget the visual representations:
I know I know, I didn't forget the visual representations:
it can vary from brown, black, to charcoal, to dark blue. To really bring out the eye color.
As for Mascara, a dark midnight blue & black will do.
Applying makeup on Blue eyes:
You can start with applying a good foundation that matches your skin tone, use an under eye concealer to brighten and diminish the dark circles. Remember that highlight is applied on the brow bone, medium shades are applied on the crease, darker shades on the outer corners of the eye, and to brighten it up, you can add a little light-color shimmer to the inner corner of the eye.
Blue eyes are able to experiment with all sorts of colors, so don't be afraid to try out colors you think are crazy.
- It's best to use neutral color on the crease and lid, then working your way up, blending into a lighter shade, as you work your way up to the brow bone.
- Eye liner is highly recommended for blue eyes! It separates the makeup from your eyes

Tricks for Thin Small Lips - Make your lips look Fuller
Having thin lips isn't a problem, so you don't have worry so much. In fact, I myself have thin lips. But there are always some tricks that this Fashion Girl has up her sleeve.
- Avoid Dark shades- make sure whenever wearing any lip product (such as gloss or lip stick) to avoid any dark shades, such as deep red. Which can make your lips look even thinner. So try switching to light & medium shades.
- A great trick to use for the upper lips, to make that bounce up & curvy lip effect- apply a good high lighter along your upper lips cupid bow
- Make the lips look fuller- by applying a good highlighter that is a tad bit lighter than your lip skin color, then apply it and line on the outer lip. This is a really good trick to use to make that fuller-lips-effect.
- Keep the lips soft- apply some lip balm, then use a dry clean toothbrush and scrub the lips (this is like exfoliation, but for the lips.)

The Power of Shea Butter
Ever heard of Shea Butter? Probably not. Or you probably have. Well Shea Butter is a thick white substance that is extracted from the nuts of a Shea-Karite Tree located in the tropics of Africa. But there is more....
Shea butter has powerful healing properties, caused by the high content of fatty acids.
The benefits of Shea Butter are amazing. It reaches out benefiting the skin, body, and Hair.
- It's a perfect moisturizer
- It protects from the sun (protects the skin from UV Rays)
- evens out the skin tone
- It helps diminish & or reduce acne
- It softens the rough skin (such as feet, elbow, knee)
- It works on Blemishes and Wrinkles
- It soothes sunburns, wounds, or skin rash
- It also works on Eczema
- It's a dry skin & dry scalp relief
- helps penetrate the skin WITHOUT clogging pores
And Due to the high content of fatty acid (as mentioned above) Shea butter is included in tons of cosmetic, bath & body, skin care, lotions, shampoo's, conditioner, and hair products. Shea Butter also retains all it's natural vitamins such as Vitamin A, E & F, which work all together to protect the skin, soothing any rash, or dry skin, damaged dry hair (can help repair split ends!) it also balances the skin's moisture, keeps it hydrated, and helps diminish & or reduce scars, premature wrinkles, & facial lines.
Plus, Shea butter will absorb into your skin, leaving no greasy or oily trace behind. Not to mention that it helps restore skin elasticity. Shea butter is a MAJOR benefit to the Skin, body and hair. It has also been known that people use Shea butter for skin problems (But before use: Please consult dermatologist FIRST.)
How does Shea Butter benefit my hair?
It benefits by hydrating the scalp, protecting the hair from dryness or weather damage, restores the moisture & luster back to dry and or damaged hair.
NOTE: Make sure you don't get tricked into buying Fake "Pure Shea Butter". Shea butter is a white thick gooey substance. Shea Butter should NEVER be green, hard, mixed with other ingredients or anything. It varies in it's color, such as from golden yellow, gray-yellow, to pure white, mostly a creamy soft color. (But NEVER Green.)
- So Make sure you check the Shea Butter before buying. Usually when the Shea Butter is Purely white, it means it's highly refined, and it may not have all the vitamins and healing properties it used to have.
- NOTE: Shea Butter is usually found in health food market; stores. Or specific online distributor.
- Shea Butter & OR Shea Butter products can be found in stores like Walgreens, Target, Bath & Body, & Vitamin Shoppe.
Wow, who knew Shea Butter can be such a big benefit to skin and hair? ...Now you know. :)

Top 4 HOT Bronzer's and Blushes
Hey everyone,
Well today I decided to shake things up, so I'm going with a makeup post today. Plus also stay updated either from RSS or GFC cause a lot is coming on Fashion Girlz. Trend Reports, Acessories, makeup looks, Juicy beauty secrets, and- Wait no! Cheater! ;) if you wanna know what's new, you gotta stay tuned.
Top Number 1 is definitely Too Faced "Leopard Love complexion perfection" palette. It's a 3 in 1 palette. You've got your bronzer, blush, and Brighten. Plus what I love about this, is that it's got that color that just simply blends into your skin, and gives such a fine bronzed finishing look, especially if you add the bronzer just a little bit below the cheekbone. The blush from what I can tell you, is rosy, it's not too light, and not too dark, it's perfect. Also to mention that once you apply it, and swirl it around your cheeks the color will blend in. The Brighten is lovely! I personally use the brighten as a cheek powder since you can see it's kind of combined in the colors. It's got pink, a glowing bronze, and an earthy tone in the middle.
In second place, we've got a Coastal Scents Contour and Blush palette. Also a very popular blush palette and very used throughout the beauty globe ;)
Here you've got all the basics. You've got your two blushes, Contour, shades, and concealer. It's perfect to take in any tote bag when your on the go, or even for short travel when you need some basic beauty essentials, this will be perfect to take along. You have everything you need for face all in one.
Those are the Top 2 so far, next up (#3 & #4) they may not be palettes, but they do get the job done.
My favorite bronzer and blushes from this entire Summer are both from Benefit and NARS. During summer vacation, I took them EVERYWHERE with me, including at the beach. I mean you never know when you might go right to the movies after the beaches. So I would apply some bronzer, blush, mascara & gloss, nothing big. Just short. sweet. and simple.
And that's all for now everyone, stay up-to-date with my next posts ;)
XOXO

Color my nails update!
Hi everyone,
Wondering what nail colors are in? Keep reading, plus learn some helpful tips along the way ;)
Ok so not long ago, I made a post talking about different subjects in beauty, like updates in makeup, and I also mentioned the summer colors 2010. Here is a new update:
So we are in the mid-summer and soon (SOON, not tomorrow.) going into Fall (Around Mid-September).
And we've got some amazing colors for Summer-Fall 2010! Talk about neutral, quiet baby blues, some coral colors, smooth pink, specific metallic colors, and a whole mess of colors!
For Summer colors there are Teals, turquoise, your pinks, corals, then you've got your neutral nail colors. Here are some featured nail polishes that are great for summer:
There we've got four colors that represent each summer nail color category, like I listed above. (China Glaze for audrey (Teal color), China Glaze Shocking Pink, NARS Midnight Express, Essie Tart Deco Nail Polish)
Upcoming Fall 2010 colors will be posted here on Fashion Girlz. Just to give you an idea, calm smooth colors: neutrals, black, reds, baby blue teals (which look GREAT on any skin tone)
- Do you have brittle nails? the cause is probably from detergents & water (when you wash the dishes). Using gloves will protect the nails from getting more brittle and weak. Same goes for when your using cleaning supplies (especially bleach)
- Too much filing your nails can also be a bad thing.
Check for tomorrow's post on "What's your lip color?"
XOXO

Jenulence Lip balm & eye shadow review
Hi everyone,
Today I have a review based on a Mineral Makeup cosmetic company "Jenulence" so check it out ;)
Jenulence is a mineral makeup & natural cosmetic company. All their products are environmentally friendly, and do not include any artificial ingredients. And hey! Guess what animal lovers? they are also cruelty free! (They do not test on animals).
They have a whole bunch of products, from Makeup brushes, to tinted lip balms, to body shimmer, to cleansers, toners, blushes & a whole lot more.
So I got to try out one of their Tinted Lip balms "Alkanet Root DMAE Lip balm" & one of their matte mineral eye shadows "Morning Sky".
Now, what I like about the Alkanet root lip balm, is that, first of all, the scent is not heavy, it's light and nice. It's also very well tinted when you apply it on your lips, it has some sort of nice smooth texture, that let's you apply it easily, just slide apply it on your lips and your good to go. Also in the side information of the lip balm, it contains what ingredients it has, and I am happy to say that they are all natural environmentally friendly ingredients, like: Camellia seed oil, Apricot kernel oil, Aloe vera oil, beeswax, alkanet root, seabuckthorn berry oil, Vitamin E, DMAE, & rose essential oil.
And in my opinion, it is a very good combination of ingredients to created an awesome Tinted lip balm.
I do also like the color of the Alkanet root lip balm, it's a type of plum/ dark calm rosey-type of color. It would be great for those night-out's when your going to dinner and so.
It is not sticky at all! It lasts very long, actually, for me it lasted on all day, which is great! So two thumbs up for that!
They also have different lip balms in different colors and "flavors", such as: Vanilla Orange DAME lip balm, Cold Sore healing lip balm, Plumping DMAE lip balm, and a few more.
Now what I like about the Matte mineral eye shadow, is that it is a really good pigmented matte. And when you apply it, it really does have that last-long type of structure, and it's so easy to remove! So you don't have to be rubbing your eyes with warm water to remove the eye shadow. And this is also really good mineral. They also have tons of different colors, a really good variety in eye shadows. Also one of the things that is another good thumbs up, is that it is loose powder, but at the same time it doesn't spread under your eyes. Like you know those eye shadows (even if they are not loose mineral powder eye shadows) they would fall and spread under your eyes, and make it look all badly-applied? well with this one it doesn't happen! I applied it with my ordinary eyeshadow brush, and found no trace of the mineral eyeshadow under my eye.
I also really like this color since it's soothing, it's perfect for day & night! It's like one of those "change it up" eye shadows. You have a nice color during the day, then at night you just re-apply, add some eyeliner, mascara and your good to go!
Tip: #1 If you have small eyes, it is recommended to use Light shades of eye shadow, the dark shades will just make your eyes seem even smaller.
Tip: #2 If you are looking for shades of eye shadow that really bring out your eyes, you can consider the following. "the trick is, using opposite shades, that are not in the family of your eye color".
- Blue eyes: Earthy colors, bronze shades, neutral eyes or coppers will do the trick
- Green eyes: Plums, violets, burgundy shades.
- Brown eyes: Vibrant blues & navy's are the answer! They will make those eyes stand out and show their true color spirit!
